New Mississippi River Bridge Construction Moves Forward

Construction of the new Mississippi River Bridge is well under way by the Massman, Traylor, Alberici joint venture team. As the first bridge built connecting downtown St. Louis and southwestern Illinois in more than 40 years, the completely new alignment will relieve traffic on the Poplar Street Bridge (PSB), one of only two bridges in the U.S. to carry three interstates. I-70 will be shifted from the PSB to the new Mississippi River Bridge, significantly relieving traffic congestion.
