The ZX160LC-5 Excavator is replacing the ZX160LC-3 in Hitachi's Dash 5 line. The 121 -hp Isuzu Interim Tier 4 diesel engine employs exhaust-gas recirculation and a diesel particulate filter to meet EPA standards. The excavator's hydraulics feature three work modes: "high productivity" for faster hydraulic response, "power" for balance of speed and fuel economy during normal use, and "economy" to maximize fuel efficiency.
