LA's Cost Index Revised to a 4.5% Annual Gain

The construction cost index for Los Angeles has been revised downward from last month due to a correction in the common labor wage rate reported to ENR. The new CCI for the city shows a value of 10740.93, which is up 4.5% from November 2012's level.This 4.5% hike is in line with the annual escalation rates posted for cities such as Baltimore, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and San Francisco. The ENR wage rate for common laborers shows a year-to-year increase of 5.3%. R.S. Means, Norwell, Mass., shows a 3,3% increase for the same labor component.
