ENR's video section features interviews with the engineers, contractors and state officials who are overseeing the new concrete foundations for a 400-ft-long section of the 1-495 bridge in Wilmington, Del., that has been closed since June 2, after the piers were found to be compromised by a tilt of up to 4%. ENR reporter Dave Gershgorn's video includes interviews with Robert McCleary, chief engineer for the Delaware Dept. of Transportation and Barry Ben-ton, DelDOT's assistant director of bridges, about possible causes and a 911 call alerting authorities to the problem nearly a month before.
