Coordinating Safety With Switch-Activated Motion Control

Safety is of the utmost importance when delivering heavy materials on a construction site. A new coordinated motion telehandler feature from Xtreme Manufacturing improves worker welfare while streamlining operations. The working envelope on standard telehandlers that typically moves in an arc design with fork movements relative to the angle of the chassis-which requires skilled operators to adjust the forks in multiple directions-increases jobsite safety risk. Xtreme's XR1147-B with switch-activated coordinated motion control allows any operator to achieve true horizontal and perpendicular fork motions, independent from the angle of the chassis. The first Xtreme XR1147-B telehandler with coordinated motion was used by Reynolds Equipment for the construction of Sun Prairie High School located in Sun Prairie, Wis. Operators safely and quickly delivered water tanks, mortar tubs and heavy pallets of brick onto tall scaffolding without disturbing the structure or harming bricklayers standing atop.
