Colonial Road Bridge Replacement Reduces Travel Times, Mitigates Flooding

Located in Paterson, N. J., Railroad Construction Co. Inc. (RCC) and its designer KSE/WSP, a joint venture, were contracted by Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) to construct and install a replacement bridge under a design-build contract totaling more than $24 million. The new bridge keeps the existing Colonial Road alignment while improving the existing right-of-way to mitigate flooding and drainage issues.
