The dollar value of total construction put-in-place showed a seasonally adjusted monthly escalation rate of 0.1% in August, following a rate of 0.1% in July, according to the U.S. Dept. of Commerce's seasonally adjusted data. On a yearly basis, total construction was 6.5% higher than in August 2017. The private sector saw a 4.4% increase from a year ago, while public work had an 14% boost, seasonally adjusted. Residential construction in both markets experienced increases compared to this time last year.
