Reducing Facility Operating Costs through On-site Generation of Electricity

The following article provides an overview of on-site generation of electricity as a cost reduction measure for manufacturing facili- ties. It discusses that technological, and its major obstacles. A case study is conducted to evaluate the financial performance of four of the most readily available technologies. Finally, a sensitivity analysis is per- formed for all the major variables affecting the financial performance to determine their importance to a financially successful installation.
