HVAC and Luminaries Retrofit Project at The Professional College of Engineers and Land Surveyors of Puerto Rico in Hato Rey

This article presents the technical findings of a 2010 energy audit at the Professional College of Engineers and Land Surveyors of Puerto Rico in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico. General and detailed information show the methodology used in the audit, performed by EnergTech, LLC, to derive the final conclusions of the report and the recommendations. In addition, the article includes the active part of a retrofit project representing the realization of recommendations in late 2011, stemming from a legitimate concern by the Professional College of Engineers and Land Surveyors of Puerto Rico (CIAPR) and its board members to set an example of higher standards in the field of energy for other institutions, something which has become very relevant in recent years.
