Energy efficient power allocation for carrier aggregation based D2D communications underlaying LTE-advanced networks

摘要

Carrier aggregation (CA) has been introduced in the LTE-Advanced standard by 3GPP to provide a higher throughput. Specifically, CA based D2D communication is a key way to versatilely improve the performance of the future LTE-Advanced cellular networks. However, the power allocation of D2D communications calls for careful design to overcome the increasing energy consumption of user device and to protect the cellular user. In this paper, we propose an approach of power allocation of the CA based D2D users in a cell with one base station (BS) and multiple cellular users by minimizing the energy consumption under interference constraint. The original problem formulated as the ratio of two functions will be transformed into another parametric formulation. An algorithm is developed by using the monotonicity of the parametric formulation and the relationship between the two formulations. Finally, we verify the proposed scheme by numerical simulations.
