2011 JAN 24 - (VerticalNews.com) -- Research findings, 'Point patterns of treerndistribution determined by habitat heterogeneity and dispersal limitation,' are discussed in a newrnreport. "Understanding processes underlying spatial distribution of tree species is fundamental tornstudying species coexistence and diversity. This study modeled point patterns of treerndistribution, expressed by Cartesian coordinates of individual trees within a mapped forestrnstand, for the purpose of identifying processes that may generate spatial patterns of treerncommunities," scientists writing in the journal Oecologia report.
