2011 JUL 20 - (VerticalNews.com) -- "Based on the geometric analysis of thernrelationship between the stress state at a point and the yield surface defined in the principalrnstress space, a coefficient omega is set up as an estimation index to describe the stress-inducedrnyield risk. After yield, the equivalent plastic shear strains is usually used to characterize thernfailure degree (FD) of the material and adopted here as an index of the damage degree for thernsurrounding rock masses," scientists in Wuhan, People's Republic of China report.
