With the change in administration, a revitalized Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and a new team at the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) have been moving quickly to advance various regulatory initiatives and interpretations of existing regulations and guidance. Employers need to pay heed to virtually all of these activities, as they signal a more activist governmental approach; the EEOC has expanded its views of its powers and the scope of the statutes that it interprets.
