摘要

The formation of sharp amplitude modulations of a phase-modulated coherent optical (PSK) signal in the presence of stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) has been studied numerically. The results are in agreement with recent experiments and establish SBS as the origin of the amplitude modulations.
