Choosing a lithium battery

Choosing lithium over other battery chemistries is not a diffi- decision, but choosing the right lithium battery can be tricky. Of all the primary battery chemistries, lithium―the lightest nongaseous metal―offers unique benefits because its intrinsic negative potential exceeds that of all metals. Batteries based on lithium chemistries have the highest specific energy (energy per unit weight) and ener- gy density (energy per unit volume) of all types.
