摘要

At first look, integration and partitioning seem to push a design in opposite directions. Integration delivers lower costs because it allows a system to use similar on-chip resources. In the IC industry, integrated solutions can share circuit resources as well as mechanical components, such as lead frames and packaging materials. In high-performance circuits, integration helps circuit performance by shorting signal and power paths. The software world also uses integration to benefit the firmware designer.
