Enclosure technology battles UV

SolarGuard, an enclosure formulation technology from Stahlin Non-Metallic Enclosures (Belding, MI), enhances molecular bond strength and cross-linking during the curing process in thermosetting polyester sheet-molding compounds (SMCs), promising improved UV-radiation protection in non-metallic enclosures used in outdoor applications. The technology features an additive that fights polymer degradation by making it more difficult for UV light to attack molecular bonds, and also provides chemical and flame resistance.
