MRAM research yields 250-MHz operation

NEC has announced development of a new version of MRAM memory that can operate at 250 MHz—said to be double that of current devices. MRAM technology features nonvolatility and unlimited write endurance. While MRAM is not low power, often power can be greatly reduced by simply turning off the nonvolatile chip when it is not in read or write operation.
