Flexible PMIC targets ARM quad-core processors

The highly integrated and configurable DA9063 power management IC (PMIC) targets ARM quad-core and dual-core application proces- sors. It delivers up to 12 A from its six dc/dc converters, 24% more than its nearest competitor. The device simultaneously powers the proces- sor (the core at up to 5 A plus other processor supplies), external memories, wireless communications (WLAN and Bluetooth), GPS and FM receivers, and data modems. The dc/dc converters can be paralleled to provide 3- and 5-A rails.
