Over the last year, mainstream design teams have taken up deep-cell characterization specialty tools, such as those from Simplex Solutions, Circuit Semantics, Silicon Metrics and newest entrant Celestry. Now, with the start of Prolific Inc.'s three-year Liquid Cell initiative, mainstream EDA is set to give them derivative cell creation, too.
