摘要

The operation of a sliding contact using solid lubricant made of molybdenum disulfide is considered. It is shown, using a model of viscous flow, that a lubricant in a sliding contact system causes a magnetohydrodynamic force to appear, whose vertical component is directed opposite to the brush compressing force. The conditions for finding the optimum thickness of the lubricant layer are presented. It is pointed out that under certain conditions, cavi-tation can occur under the trailing edge of the brush, which will result in a poorer electrical contact.
