Rockwell Automation Again Declines Offer from Emerson; Emerson Withdraws Bid

Rockwell Automation's board of directors again declined Emerson Electric's proposal to acquire the Milwaukee-based industrial automation specialist. Emerson's latest offer, its third since early October, valued the deal at $29 billion in cash and Emerson stock. Following Rockwell's response, Emerson recently issued a statement withdrawing its offer and saying instead it will invest up to $1 billion in share repurchases over the next 12 months.
