Dahanu Thermal Power Station: A Proud Success Story Of The Nation

The success story can never be a one night miracle. It is rather a compilation of experiences, be a good one or bad; gathered over years together; but gradually leaning towards an all kind betterment through proven fruitfulness and ending with only various paybacks. The nation, over last 60 years of independence, has seen many such success stories on all fronts, be they related to a social, political or industrial. The decade 1991 to 2000 has a significant importance in the Indian Economy. The decade that started with the historical decision of globalization and witnessed the several positive developments in the Indian economy. Fruits of seeds ploughed then are being under taste now. One of such seeds was opening of the Indian power sector for private participation. Power, being the key component of any industrial and infrastructural development, was identified as a priority sector and in view of the limited resources with the public sector; the private participation in the sector was invited.
