According to new research from National Grid, reaching the UK Government's target of net zero by 2050 will require the creation of 400,000 jobs. The UK's energy sector must increase low carbon electricity generation by around 50 per cent in the next decade alone, from sources such as wind or solar. Low carbon heating needs to be installed in millions of homes; new technologies need to be developed; and around 60,000 charging points need to be installed to power 11 million electric vehicles.
