3-D medical printer to print body parts

At the December Printed Electronics USA conference, vendors showcased printable batteries, OLED (organic light-emitting-diode) displays, and diabetes-treatment and drug dispensers. One of the most notable technologies on display comes from biosciences company Organovo, which just took delivery of the 3-D medical printer that it designed with Invetech, a design and contract-manufacturing company. The technology "prints" artificial blood vessels for trans-rnplant with the goal of creating an arterial graft for use in coronary-bypass surgery. The long-term goal, according to an article in Information Week, is to solve problems in medical therapy that other approaches cannot solve (Reference 1).
