Method synchronizes slaves in power-line communications

In PLC (power-line-communication) applications, the communications system usually uses one master and a large number of slaves (for example, 64). The idea presented here is an easy method for the synchronization of slaves, using one μC and a few other components. The μC is a PIC16C7X, which has three important properties for this application: a watchdog timer, an external in- terrupt, and a sleep in-struction.
