Whether you're connecting a new machine to the electrical service box or merely repairing a broken wire, a high quality pair of wire strippers is invaluable. I have two pairs: one for 10 gage to 18 gage wires and the other for finer wires often found in computer circuits. Don't waste your money on a cheapie, stamped pair. In order to get a clean, reliable stripping action, make sure the tool has ground grooves. In a recent issue of Popular Mechanics, they rated the Channellock (my favorite high quality, made in USA tool brand) Model 968 as one of the best. That's the one I'd buy next time around.
