When one is maintaining electrical or electronic equipment like EDM machines, there is often a need to clean electrical contacts such as those on circuit boards, cable connectors or even backup battery holders. If you've been around NC/ CNC machines as long as I have, you've likely been advised by a service tech to "reseat" the boards as part of machine issues troubleshooting. Well, before reseating them, the contacts should be cleaned. Ah, but how to clean them? I've heard recommendations ranging from pencil erasers to alcohol.
