PEOPLE in Britain have for the most part reacted in an exemplary way to the London bombings.Commuters remain stoical,the government has taken pains not to blame Muslims at large,and the Muslim leaders summoned this week to a Downing Street summit with Tony Blair declared afterwards that no grievance-over foreign policy in Iraq or Palestine,or social conditions at home-should ever be used to justify the murder of fellow citizens.
