Raising capital in a new era

Rbc Capital Markets recently commissioned the Economist Intelligence Unit to survey 736 senior executives from around the world-bankers, managers of hedge funds, private equity firms and pension funds, and finance executives whose companies raise money in the capital markets. Despite signs of life in the global economy and an uptick in transactions, financial executives are worried about a slow and weak recovery. Half of the respondents believe that corporate profits and returns on capita I will not climb back to pre-crisis levels for at least five years. In an environment that remains uncertain, lessons emerge for issuers and investors.
