Growth in 2009Q4 was revised down to zero, and initial data for 2010Q1 indicates that activity in the Eurozone remained quite weak. Business surveys indicate that activity in the manufacturing sector should pick up during the coming quarters, but households are feeling the pinch from higher unemployment and continue to reduce spending. Subdued demand will result in Eurozone GDP expanding by only 0.9% this year.
