Transferring economic values on the basis of an ecological classification of nature

It order to save research costs, economists often try to transfer the economic value of existing nature areas to other planned areas. Because the existing area and the plan area are not similar, such benefit transfers are generally not considered valid. Although some economists have paid attention to the ecological characteristics of sites in relation to transfers, they do not seem to have decomposed ecosystems into spatially homogeneous units, which are similar at different locations.
