LOW VESSEL AVAILABILITY REVIVES LNG CHARTER MARKET

The LNG spot and short-term charter rates firmed up in May 2018, with an increased enquiry and low tonnage availability. TFDE ships were available at $47,000pd in Asia- Pacific, which is around 28% higher than the rates in May 2017. Meanwhile, the East of Suez rates were seen at around $36,700pd in May 2018, which is 48% higher than the rates seen over the same period in 2017.
