The Drewry Freight Rate Index improved by 0.5% on long-haul routes and 2.4% on short-haul routes in August. Moreover, the Vegoil Freight Rate Index also strengthened by 3.9% due to recovery in the CPP market, coupled with heavy congestions on many ports, causing tight tonnage supply and delays of cargoes.
