Drewry’s Chemical Freight Index declined 1.5% on long-haul routes and 0.2% on short-haul routes in January, but the Vegoil Freight Index increased by 1.9% in January. We expect vegoil freight rates to rise further in February as CPP demand has improved on the back of higher petroleum demand in Asia after a significant drop in COVID-19 cases in the region.
