Invited by the Serpentine to curate the first design exhibition after Konstantin Grcic's in 2009, Martino Gamper started from the concept that "There is no perfect design and there is no uber-design. Objects talk to us personally." As a result, "his" exhibition will offer a highly personal vision of design that examines endless ways of collecting and gathering objects. To be held in the new Serpentine pavilion designed by Zaha Hadid (5.3-21.4), at the core of the exhibition is an extensive "parade" of shelving systems, dating from the 1930s to the present.
