TOWARDS A FRESH START

Along our line of reasoning here, we have frequently paused to consider the present, the only time available for us in which to live our life, indeed the time in which we are obliged to live. And we are agreed that the chief task that each of us ought to apply himself to first of all is that of living his time to the full. We have said, too, that we can fulfil this inescapable task only if we succeed in being truly contemporary to this time of ours, since this is a necessary condition to avoid simply being subjected to it, instead of cultivating the ambition to guide and even change its course.
