Alessandro Mendini amava scherzare perché era un uomo dalle idee chiare e distinte, a cui il fato aveva concesso molti talenti di uguale intensità. Un intellettuale della grande scuola eclettica del secondo Novecento italiano, capace di sentirsi a proprio agio e con la stessa profondità fra conoscenze e competenze diverse: tutto miscelato dalla propensione al gioco e dall'ironia in senso greco.
