摘要

Stress response of a growing microbial culture is associated with the development of adaptive responses of cells. Stress response at the genetic level is associated with the expression of specific (stress) regulons. Another component of stress response of cells includes the stabilization of biomacromolecules and supramolecular complexes with the involvement of low-molecular-weight chaperons. Microbial metabolites identified in some bacteria as alkyl-substituted resorcinols exhibit chaperon properties. An increase in the concentration of in growing microbial cultures enables their transition to the stationary growth phase, and, after reaching the threshold level, to the formation of resting stress-tolerant forms. Recently, we showed that analogues of microbial alkyl-substituted resorcinols with different hydrophobicity exhibit different ability to affect the organization of genomic DNA of growing and stationary P. aurantiaca cells.
