摘要

It is known that the respiration rate and ATP synthesis in the mitochondria isolated from ischemic cardiac tissue is fairly low. One-electron oxygen reduction leads to the generation of superoxide and other reactive oxygen species (ROS), which occurs in different parts of the respiratory chain. The events that take place in the mitochondria during ischemia promote the cytochrome c release from the inner membrane, thus increasing the pool of cytochrome c, which is then discharged from the mitochondria into the cyto-sol.
