Mount Sinai Hospital Signs With Enwave

Toronto's Mount Sinai Hospital has signed on with Enwave Energy Corp.'s deep lake water cooling program. Canada's Hospital News reported Feb. 3 that Mount Sinai will use the technology as its exclusive cooling source, a move in alignment with the hospital's goal of becoming greener. The hospital says that participating in Enwave's deep lake water cooling program will reduce its electricity use for cooling by 90 percent and that the facility will no longer need conventional air conditioners, transformers and other equipment. By connecting to the Enwave system, Mount Sinai will free more than 61 MW from the city's electrical grid and lower carbon dioxide emissions by 79,000 tons each year.
