Whereas, energy use is a key factor in the degradation of the environment; and WHEREAS, it is critically important that economical and environmentally sound choices be made as use of ozone-destroying chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) is phased out; and WHEREAS, global warming is an issue of growing international concern; and WHEREAS, significant increases in power plant capacity are expected to be required to meet increases in demand for electricity, particularly for air conditioning.
