From Soviet Time District Heating System to Efficient District Heating and Cooling Systems

Tartu's district heating and cooling (DHC) system has undergone several changes and technology upgrades. Over the years - starting with a Soviet time district heating (DH) network - Estonia's second-largest city developed a well-functioning and efficient DHC system. Nowadays Tartu's DHC system is the best functioning in the country. This has been achieved in the alignment of interests between the municipality, customers, end users and the DHC company.
