SNC-Lavalin Selected for Alaskan Project

The Chugach Electric Association of Anchorage, Alaska, has selected SNC-Lavalin Constructors Inc. to provide engineering, procurement and construction for its new Southcentral Power Project to be built at association headquarters. The project is a gas-fired, 183 MW combined-cycle power plant that is jointly owned by Chugach (70 percent) and Municipal Power & Light (30 percent). Estimated to cost a total of $368 million, the Southcentral Power Plant is scheduled for completion in December 2012.
