The drop was only 18 feet, illustrating the danger of any fall.rnEmployees in a DC tend to keep two feet on solid ground, but there are times when a worker will need to be raised in the air on scaffolding or a pallet lift truck, making fall protection critical.rnThe best way to protect against falls is to identify fall hazards and try to reduce or eliminate them. The Department of Labor (DOL) lists falls as one of the leading causes of traumatic occupational death, accounting for eight percent of all occupational fatalities from trauma. Any time a worker is at a height of four feet or more, the worker is at risk and needs to be protected.
