The Rise and Role of the University Through the Ages: An Abridged Overview

摘要

This editorial is adapted from an inaugural lecture previuosly delivered by myself at the University of Namibia where I am also the Chief Executive (Vice Chancellor). I am very much aware of the ambitious nature of the topic and presentation which was initialy given as a one-hour lecture in an area of such vastness both in space and time, and which under normal circumstances would require not only a historic-morphological approach but also a good number of treatises to do justice to a period of dose to three millennia.
