Once upon a time, "summer" actually existed in the television industry; it ■was a time for reruns and served as a dumping ground for failed pilots and— looking way back—"the summer funtime variety hour with your favorite pop artist!" Although there are numerous successful diginets that are based on airing "classic" reruns 24/7, in today's on-demand world, the term "rerun" is fast becoming obsolete.
