Although initial operating experience on the CF34 was gained on the Canadair (now Bombardier) Challenger 601 business jet from 1983, it was the entry into service of that company's CRJ100, a stretched version of the aircraft with 50 seats, that really helped the engine to make its mark, says Dave Kircher, General Manager of the Regional Engines & Services (CF34) team.
