摘要

Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) has been suggested to play a role in the pathogenesis of diabetic vascular complications. In the present study, we inves- tigated whether expression of monocyte chemoattrac- tant protein-1 (MCP-1), a chemokine that has been pro- posed to recruit leukocytes to sites of inflammation, neovascularization, and vascular injury, can be modu- lated by VEGF in bovine retinal microvascular endothe- lial cells (BRECs).
