摘要

The rapid development of health technology and the increasing length of working lives result in an increasing number of ageing healthcare providers who may have difficulties mastering digital skills due to age or other factors. Raising digital literacy is a central objective of the current European Union development guidelines. It requires innovative strategic approaches with coordinated national strategies based on the current state of national health systems, concerted cooperation and coordination between ministries, and tailored education and training plans for health providers, as rapid technological developments affect the culture of education and training demonstrated by the COVID-19 pandemic. A major gap in the literature review is the lack of strategically planned approaches for integrating digital technology into health workflows that consider different levels of digital skills. Action research in this sub-area and following the guidelines of the European Digital Agenda is proposed to fill the gap.
